I am a single, childless, woman renting in a house in Sydney. Cat lover, wine lover, tea lover, gin lover, fairy-lights lover, long lines and paying entry into bars hater.
A bit about me, having spent most of high school and university years learning the art of self-preservation working in bars and retail, I sought out a job, any job, in the film and TV industry. I found a home at Vandal and spent four years learning everything there was to learn about the world of post-production, or as those in the biz call it the ‘we have no money left’ part of the industry. Skills ranging from epic latte art for clients, right through to major nerd status of VFX & After Effects producing.
After a particularly stupid dating experience that went on and on and on like a less interesting version of Ross and Rachel, I put pen to paper and chronicled all my thoughts and feelings on what it is to date in your twenties, eventually I decided I wanted to share my narcissistic one sided dating stories and I created this blog.
Following the positive response to these blogs, including one of them being shared by epically honest blogger Constance Hall, I decided to adapt the stories and sexcapades into a script, 600 Bottles Of Wine. I collaborated with director Ainslie Clouston and Cockatoo Co-Lab producer Bec Bignell and the three of us created the web series over 2017 and 2018. The series broke the mould in terms of format, existing as both a a 8 x 9’ web-series and 4 x18’ series for TV.
The show has since been acquired by Network Ten, TVNZ OnDemand, BBC iPlayer, Virgin Australia In-flight Entertainment and also released on BBC One, BBC Two and Ten Peach.
The series was part of the official selection at NYC Webfest, Cinefest, NJ Webfest and LA Webfest where I took home the awards for Most Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series, drunkest Australian at the awards after party, shortest time to consume 4 gin martini’s and the prestigious class award for vomiting in a bin at the Airbnb.
I rode the wave of the shows success and did very little else with my life apart from trying to hook up with my friends and going on terrible tinder dates ensuring I continue to move closer and closer to my defamation law suit I am sure is coming, thats all there is to me.
